Falling leaves...here comes the yard work!

Fall is definitely here in New England. The leaves are bright hues of red, orange, and yellow. Ahh, the beauty is breath-taking. But I can't help but acknowledge the looming yard work that comes when all those beautiful leaves fall.

Our first daunting task however is moving all the cord wood we bought in the spring into our shed for the winter. Last weekend we moved the small amount of wood we had left from last year into our mud room and started our first fire in our wood stove. I love the sme… Continue

I think the edamame is done.

So, my edamame plants were doing great. I started to harvest and had about three great harvests of yummy edamame. Then, the leaves started to turn yellow and fall off. I'm not sure what happeded. I'll have to ready up on them. Maybe you don't get more that one harvest from them???

How we learned to use a chainsaw

So, as you may have seen in one of my photos, we recently had a tornado go through our neighborhood. We were fortunate enough to have our house spared from the hundreds of trees that fell during the store. So, right after the storm, we focused on cleaning up the small debris in our yard and not worrying about the tree.

Last weekend, we decided we needed to do something about it. We don't have a chain… Continue

Edamame Update

Well, my edamame plants survived the recent tornado in NH and are doing well. There are lots of furry little pods on them. I can't wait to pick them. Hopefully it will be soon. They seem to be maturing slowly but maybe I'll have some edible pods by next week. Yum! If all goes well, I'll be eating edamame for the rest of the summer.

hey Morgan :-)

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of my gardens but I do get all my inspiration from a gardening blog called "Garden Detective"
http://weblogs.newsday.com/features/home/gardendetective_blog/
The blogger, Jessica Damiano, writes all about different gardening stuff and I'm sure she'll have what you're looking for. If not, email her and ask :-)
