Zabitatz: Inspiration for YOUR home

We are moving into a new house in the next couple months and I am trying to get a head start on paint and decor!

Our room has no color scheme, and we dont use a bedding set so its free game! I was thinking a "spa" type atmosphere, like light blues, tan, creams. Honey hardwood floors.

Our son is 5 and a baseball fanatic. Looking to do some cool paint, like maybe tan on top, blue chair rail and burgandy below chair rail? He has a honey colored loft bed. Honey hardwood floors.

My daughter is only 5 months old and gets no say in her room so PURPLE it is! I would like to do stripes on top or bottom half of wall and white chair rail and solid white on other half of wall. Honey hardwood floors.

Next big one, the MAN cave. My boring hubby wants WHITE! The bar is black and no carpet as of yet.

The living room carpet right now is GRASS green. That will be the first thing to go. Would like to do like wine county colro scheme. Maybe one accent wall in merlot color?
Any ideas, pictures, tips?

Hi Tanya....how exciting to be moving into a new home!

I love the idea of a "spa-like" bedroom, different shades of those blues/aquas, paired up with white linens....baskets, storage etc.

For the little baseball fanatic, it would be really cool to do a pin-stripped room if you want to tackle stripes....do white walls with a burgundy pinstripe or blue (be careful of burgundy though.....it can look pink for the first coat and if you tape it off, you don't want to have to do too many coats of paint for the stripes. Maybe anchor it with a cool baseball rug, or if that "grass green" carpet in the living room is still useable, use it for a soft playing field for your little guy's room (a carpet store might be able to bind or surge the edges for you.

The man-cave, haha......what about different shades gray.....would look very sophisticated against the black bar, he could accessorize with dark browns and black---or even red.

I like the idea of a wine country or tuscan villa look-----you could do a very cool venitian plaster look to change up the texture, and one wall in a merlot would be really sharp. If the sofa is a lighter color it would really set off the sofa, and you can accesorize in the colors of Italy, with baskets, glass and keep the lighting nice and soft.

:) Good luck with everything----sounds like you're on your way to a lot of fun!
