Zabitatz: Inspiration for YOUR home

I'm ready to make the switch to hardwood from carpet. My house is home to me, my wife, my beautiful little toddler girls, plus two dogs. I will NOT do laminate. That's about as far as I've gotten with my decision-making.
I thought I had a prefinished solid floor picked out from Lumber Liquidators-- alas, I am very disappointed with the reviews of their products, including Bellawood.
From what I read, Kahrs is the best. Yup, it sure is at $10/sq ft! My real world is much smaller in budget. I can afford 5-6/sq ft. I've heard favorable mention of the BR-111 Triangulo series... the clear finish seems to be a selling point for folks like me with kids and pets.
Anyone have any advice from "real world" experience?

Kahrs absolutly make a great product. However there are many equally superior quality floors. There are many factors that go into the cost of a prfinished wood floor. Solid vs engineered, type of wood, quality, length of planks, width of planks, and type of finish all play into the final cost. It is a good idea to shop somewhere in which the sales profesionals can steer you to the right product for your needs and buget.
