Zabitatz: Inspiration for YOUR home

There are 5 people in my house, 3 of which are kids. None of us seem to like to put the clean laundry away after it is folded. A big part of this is because of the lack of dresser space that we have. Does anyone have any suggestions for cheap, creative, and stylish alternatives?

I don't want to buy new dressers, and I definitely don't want a bunch of plastic totes sitting around with clothes in them.

Baskets! These look great, can be put on shelves, and you can put them right in there as you fold them!
Definitely go for baskets! You can get such nice ones now that have liners or lids and stack. I use a large cube basket for storage and it doubles as an extra seat. I have a small closet with no door and have nice square baskets on shelves that look great and store tons! If you're looking for an even more economical solution, cover cardboard boxes with fabric or cover up with a tablecloth. When we first moved into our home and had NO furniture, we stored things in our moving boxes that we covered with extra carpet pieces! It was a bit funky but not bad at all.
How is your closet space? We hang just about everything except underwear and pjs in our house. It makes things go much faster!
It's a bit cramped already. I do need to clean them out though. Could add an extra bar, I guess.
One thing I like to do if you have the space is to hang more clothes, even pjs! it's faster and easier than folding.

How about a nice trunk or wooden bench with storage inside at the end of the bed. This would be a great place to store large items that need to be folded like sweaters. and it would also had some extra seating in your room.
How about using the space saver bags(the ones you suck all the air out of that suck down really tight). You could rotate the summer and winter clothes in them. To keep the bags out of the way, store them under your bed.
In the kids room try using the hanging closet organizers that have days of the week on it. You can get them at most department stores. When you are folding clothes put the kids clothes for the week right into them. This will also save you time in the mornings from trying to find clothes it is all right there ready for them to grab and go. Also this is a great place to put any items they may need to take with them for that particular day.
You ladies are so creative! Thank you so much!
