Zabitatz: Inspiration for YOUR home

It's already starting to get dark earlier and earlier and I'm dreading the day when it's dark when I get to work and dark when I leave. I work in an area with no windows which is a change from last year so I'm worried about going through the whole week without signlight and the effects it will have on my mood. Any suggestions on how to light my work space and/or my home better to prevent this?

I'm not sure where you buy them, but there are sun lamps available to people who suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Vitamin D during the long winter months can help your moods, too.
Eating lots of bananas, and dark chocolate will help ;)
They're great mood lifters....or! dark chocolate covered bananas! YES!....
You should add some holiday sparkle decor to the rooms to help reflect the light too, I find that the cute silver mosaic tiled votive holders that are at michalel's are a good way to brighten things up. Also with the holidays coming up, gathering up some of your favourite things and keeping them on display will help too... as they'd remind you of being happy. :D

Light bulbs come in a variety of "colors". Whatever your light source, try to find bulbs that replicate the color of sunlight. Stay away from the blue-ish fluorescents and halogens, which are usually a "pure" white light. Incandescents are typically yellow-ish, and the new CFLs (compact fluorescents) are available in a warm/yellow light. Even the tube fluorescents are now available in warm colors.

A solution for sunlight depreivation is to purchase a small Verilux Happy Light and sit in front of the light approximately 15 minutes twice a day. They are available at any Lighting One showroom. I have used the Happy Lights and believe they have a positive effect.
Are these really expensive. It sounds great!
